I was Associate Professor of Mathematics at Northern Illinois University, but I have now moved to the University of Texas. NIU has graciously allowed me to maintain my web pages here.

• Research papers and preprints (in TeX, on algebra and topology).
• Materials related to the teaching of math.
• I maintain the Mathematical Atlas, which provides expository materials on mathematical subjects at the math major/graduate student level.
• Some applications of math, including posts and mail on music, games, astronomy, elections, etc., from a mathematical perspective.
• Questions and solutions to recent Putnam and other mathematics competitions.
• Surely you didn\'t come looking for a short biography of this illustrious person.
• Materials absolutely unrelated to what I get paid to do are indexed on a separate non-work page, including links to my kids and other family (and genealogy), other Rusins, bicycling, linux, etc.
